Julie Dunn March 15, 2016 - The tax office has moved into the fomer HUD office near the Police Department. (The HUD office has moved into the former Tax Collector's office, near the Town Clerk’s office.) The entrance for people with disabilities is unaffected by this change. The Tax Office is responsible for the collection of Ulster County and Town of Saugerties Taxes and the Saugerties Central School District Tax. In addition, the Tax Office also collects water bills for the Glasco and Malden Water Districts, and combination water/sewer bills for the Barclay Heights Sewer District and Glasco Water District.
All powers and duties of this office, as well as collection procedures, are statutory and defined in the New York State Real Property Tax Law, except for water/sewer collections, which is defined in Town Law.
The hours of the Tax Office are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Tax Office is open on Saturday mornings, in the month of January, for payment of Ulster County and Town of Saugerties taxes, and on Saturday mornings in the month of September for payment of the Saugerties Central School District taxes, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and Noon.
